Yankees lineup vs. Brewers - Shawn Kelley injury update and minor league promotions

The Yankees and Brewers face off in game two of their interleague series.

Tonight's lineup looks a little different than normal with Derek Jeter and Alfonso Soriano on the bench. Jacoby Ellsbury, Brett Gardner, and Carlos Beltran lead off the lineup. Mark Teixeira, Brian McCann, and Yangervis Solarte make up the middle of the order. Brian Roberts is at second while Brendan Ryan will make his first appearance of the season as the shortstop. CC Sabathia returns to Milwaukee and gets a chance to make some contact.

Shawn Kelley had a precautionary MRI done on his stiff back yesterday. The test came back fine, so he could be available as soon as tonight. The right-hander has had a tough time recently and hasn't been used since he walked four batters in one inning and blew a save the next day. Hopefully the rest will help him get back to where he was in April as the fill-in closer.

UPDATE:

The Yankees have made a few minor league roster moves in the last few days. You know by now that Yankees catching prospect Peter O`Brien has been promoted to Double-A Trenton. Making the move with him is reliever Branden Pinder while first baseman Kyle Roller has finally been promoted to Triple-A Scranton for the first time.

The already stacked Charleston RiverDogs will receive 21-year-old pitching prospect Rony Bautista from extended spring training. At six-foot-seven with a 10.1 K/9 and 5.1 BB/9, we might be looking at the second coming of Dellin Betances.

The Yankees have released Triple-A reliever Yoshinori Tateyama, which I am a little disappointed to see. Sure, he's 38 and was beat up in the early goings of 2014, but he was very effective for Scranton last year and looked impressive in camp.
