If you or I were a MLB pitcher not currently under contract, the Twins would have called by now. Aw crap, this means they could sign Jake... AND TEACH HIM HOW TO BUNT! NOOOOOO!

Very Indians-related

MLBTR takes a shot at predicting Justin Masterson's arbitration worth.

FanGraphs' Dave Cameron looks at the cost of a projected win on the free agent market, which shows David Murphy's new contract with the Tribe to be one of the best values of the offseason so far.

Jonah Keri calls Scott Kazmir one of the three best free-agent values left on the market.

Somewhat Indians-related

LGFT Jhonny Peralta hit the jackpot in his recent deal with the Cardinals. Here are the details: "$15.5M in '14, $15M in '15, $12.5M in '16, $10M in '17." I suppose the front-loaded nature of this deal makes him more movable in future years-but that's if you think he will maintain a production level that somebody would want.

The Tigers are in serious negotiations with free-agent reliever Brian Wilson, last seen throwing 6 shutout innings in the playoffs.

Indians-related in the sense that each baseball move impacts all others

The 2014 Hall of Fame ballot has arrived. It's packed with qualified candidates who won't sniff the 75% of the votes needed for induction. On a very interesting and notable related note, Deadspin has purchased the Hall of Fame ballot of one voter, who will list whichever candidates Deadspin tells them to. The voter will reveal their identity and their motivations after the voting results are announced in January. Jason will have more on the Hall of Fame later this morning.

The Twins have supposedly made Mike Pelfrey a 2-year contract offer. However, just as this implies, Heyman sometimes seems to do Pelfrey's agent favors. They also inquired on F(uture)LGFT Ubaldo Jimenez, which we all know is highly unlikely.

This article on Robinson Cano acts like the Yankees are the only team in Major League Baseball.
